Clifton Steel has a history in providing armor steel to military and government customers. Now, we bring our high-class, bulletproof armor to the commercial segment. Our in-house heat treat lines allow us to produce reliable quenched and tempered armor steel plate, known as Watchdog Armor, at a moments notice. The lines allow 亚博系列全平台入口 improved control of product, quicker response time, and the ability to offer specialized armor plate sizing (resulting in possible reduction of customer cost of manufacturing!) Our heat treated steel armor plate meets specs set by the (NIJ), EN 1063, and UL 752.

NIJ Standard-0101.06
The U.S. National Institute of Justice (NIJ) is the only national standard accepted by law en亚博系列全平台入口cement and correction officers. They have created standard levels of classifications based on levels of ballistic protection. Having these standards helps users understand what their armor will protect them against. While a higher NIJ level typically means a higher protection level, they do not consider outside factors, such as weight or multiple-hit capabilities.聽

At Clifton Steel, we test each unique heat treated commercial armor lot through a third-party, accredited ballistic laboratory. This guarantees your material meets the UL 752 standard protection level required. UL armor levels 1 to 3 are designed to resist three-shot clusters from common pistols, while levels 4 to 8 can resist one to five shots from rifles and submachine guns. Levels 9 and 10 are primarily used in military applications.聽
